A sweatpants vendor at Circle, a suburb of Accra, Vedomon Perfect, has advised Ghanaians on TV's Everyday People programme not to let the current economic hardships dictate how they live their lives or pursue their dream careers. According to him, while he acknowledges the economic challenges Ghana is facing, he believes individuals can improve their situations without attributing their struggles to the government. Perfect who has been in the sweatpants business for the past four years admitted that things have significantly changed over time; however, as a determined individual, he has decided not to let these changes become a challenge for him. "Things have really changed but most of us don't put our minds on those kinds of kinds of stuff because one thing I know is that your economy is your own pocket so even though the government affects the market, you also can put personal measures that will help you do well. So, I'll not really blame the government… even though it's bad; everybody knows that it's bad but you have to also go forward and do something for yourself," he said. Perfect who hails from the Volta Region also told 's Eugenia Diabah that he engaged in a couple of jobs in the Volta Region, but no matter how hard he worked, he wasn't earning enough money to save for school.
