The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B, has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating plans to create disturbances in the Ashanti Region, allegedly to intimidate voters ahead of the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a press conference on the evening of Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Nana B alleged that the NDC is training groups of thugs under the pretence of security programs in constituencies such as Obuasi East.

He asserted that the purpose of this training was to incite chaos in the Ashanti Region, a traditional stronghold of the NPP. "We have credible intelligence indicating that, on November 11, 2024, the NDC's committee on mining, led by Tony Bobin, a former Chief Officer of the Minerals Commission, convened a secret meeting with NDC-affiliated small-scale miners.

This meeting was held at the conference hall of the Momie Hotel in Bedie, located in the Obuasi West Municipality," Nana B stated.
