After undergoing a successful anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgery in London on Monday and expected to face a lengthy period on the sidelines, Fatawau Issahaku's teammates took turns to console the injured winger.
Issahaku picked up his untimely injury in Ghana's 1-1 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying draw against Angola last Friday when he contested an aerial duel in the first half and landed awkwardly.
Despite the pain, the 20-year-old soldiered on and completed the first half of the said game.
Issahaku was eventually replaced before the players came out for the second half by left-back Ebenezer Annan after hobbling for the final minutes of the first half.
