CAF has announced the final shortlist for the various categories in the upcoming 2024 CAF Awards, with Ghana failing to make the final cut for any category.

Ghana had a hopeful shot of winning an award with Dreams FC duo Abdul Aziz Issah and John Antwi, with the former among the 10 players selected by CAF in the Interclub Player of the Year category and Young Player of the Year.

However, the list has been trimmed to five stars, with Mamelodi Sundowns' goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, RS Berkane's Issoufo Dayo, Zamalek's Ahmed Sayed Zizi, Al Ahly duo Hussein El Shahat, and Al Mostafa Shobeir all in the mix to nick the prestigious Interclub Player of the Year gong, leaving out the Ghanaian duo.

After a remarkable campaign for Dreams FC, one that culminated in the last four of the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup, the Still Believe lads and Aziz Issah, who finished joint-top scorer of the competition with four goals, will see it as a big opportunity missed.
