The Municipal Chief Imam of Adentan, Sheikh Muhammad Mutawakil Abubakar, has called on parents and community leaders to support and encourage the youth in their educational endeavors. He said young Muslims could fulfill their full potentials through education and serve as role models in their various communities if they got the needed support from leaders. Speaking at a two-day Sharia Forum for Muslim youth on Friday, he also advised students to blend their education with religious knowledge so as to protect their "identity and dignity."
The workshop organised by the office of the Adentan Chief Municipal Imam and funded by Direct Aid Ghana aimed at promoting "education and intellectual development" among the Muslim youth in the municipality. The Adentan Municipal Chief Imam emphasised the dual benefits of knowledge acquisition-not only to succeed in this world, but also as a pathway to eternal reward in the hereafter. He said the teachings of Islam that place great value on education and intellectual growth was important and quoted several verses from the Holy Quran to buttress his point.
