A Former Chairman of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, has launched his campaign to lead the party in the December 2024 election. On the theme "a new leader, a new direction, a new Ghana," Mr Mornah is hoping to end the political duopoly of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress since the country returned to democratic order in 1993. He said as Ghana looked towards the African Union Agenda 2063, the country needed a new direction, an honest, incorruptible and committed leader, to professionally manage a new Ghana of an all-inclusive and law-abiding citizenry. "Many first-time voters are disillusioned with the current leadership which has failed to meet their expectations. The Bernard Mornah leadership offers a new, necessary direction for our country," he said at the launch of his campaign in Accra on Wednesday. Mr Mornah said his experience in various leadership roles had prepared him to lead Ghana effectively with his commitment to honesty, discipline and excellence.
