The office of former President John Dramani Mahama has expressed its profound satisfaction with the Office of the Special Prosecutor's (OSP) ruling, which exonerates him from allegations in the Airbus scandal. The office said the OSP's ruling reaf­firmed Mr Mahama as a man of integri­ty, a leader committed to the principles of honesty and transparency. Mr Mahama was last Thursday exon­erated by the OSP of no wrong doing in the circumstances surrounding the purchase of three military aircraft from Airbus. In a statement signed by Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Special Aide to the former President, in response to the findings of the OSP, the office said on Friday that the facts of the case have always been available despite the machinations behind the scenes including the disin­genuous attempts by the government to exploit this matter for political gain. "Despite the UK's Serious Fraud Of­fice clarifying that Mahama's brother and others involved had no case to answer, the government persisted in framing this scandal as a tool for politi­cal advantage," the statement said. The office held that the OSP's reve­lation that President Nana Addo Dank­wa Akufo-Addo personally requested that President Mahama be investigated casts an even darker shadow on the motives behind the initial accusations, which were planted to tarnish the rep­utation of an innocent man. "The lies and fabricated stories against President Mahama over the last eight years have been consistently proven false. "President Mahama has always made himself available for any investigation.
