Lawyer and Lecturer at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA, Ishaq Ibrahim has reacted to the Moshosho expired rice saga for Senior High Schools(SHS) as he asserts that there is a difference between an expiry date and the best before.
During a panel discussion on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana, Ishaq Ibrahim stated emphatically that the rice has not expired as rumored but it's still wholesome to be consumed.
According to him, companies or organizations discard products that have expired without bringing it out for consumption hence the Moshosho rice cannot be expired as reported by the Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Ishaq explained that if a product has the tag "best before" then consumers are free to eat within the manufactured date and the date attached to the best before because it is still wholesome for consumption "When you buy a product and it has the tag expiry, it's different from best before.
