Ghana's President is expected to commission the Flower Pot Interchange today, November 19, 2024.
The interchange is expected to ease traffic on the North and South corridors of the Tema Motorway and allow easy access to places around Tema, Spintex and East Legon.
Key features of the Interchange include 802-meter dual carriageway viaduct surfaced with asphalt, a 140-meter ramp from Shiashie onto the viaduct towards Airport Hills, and an 80-meter ramp connecting the viaduct to the Motorway towards Tema.
Work began on the Interchange in March 2017 after the NPP govt renegotiated the scope of the project through expansion and more ancillary works, which brought the total cost of the project to GHS 285 million befitting an interchange status.
