Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections.
In an interview on Oyerepa TV on November 18, 2024, Kyerematen described the endorsement as misleading and a potential stain on Kufuor's respected legacy.
Kyerematen, who has a close relationship with the former president, shared his disappointment, stating that Kufuor's public support for Bawumia was based on inaccuracies and could harm the high regard many have for him. "Kufuor is my uncle, and I don't want to say something publicly against him.
