The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed says his constituents have asked him not to return to parliament if the House is called back.
Speaking recently during a campaign tour in the Ellembelle constituency of the Western Region, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, instructed the party's Members of Parliament to boycott any emergency recall of the House.
Commenting on the party chairman's directive on JoyNews' AM Show, Mr Murtala said his constituents "think" Mr Nketia's directive should be adhered to. "I can tell you that if you were to take the position of the people of Tamale Central, overwhelmingly they think we shouldn't even go back to parliament.
They think we shouldn't," he said.
