Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufour, has disclosed that he tried his best to ensure he finished his constitutionally mandated term because he did not want any military to take over the country.

He says that while president of Ghana, he worked so hard to ensure that the country enjoyed the needed development in various sectors.

Kufour, who was speaking to some Morning Show hosts at his residence, said he had experienced military rule and did not want the country to go back, hence his decision to ensure everything was handled smoothly in the country. "I had experienced the military rule and did not like the consequences of the military rule.

So while I was president, I worked so hard to ensure that my tenure was over and I handed over smoothly to the next president of the country.
