Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has taken a swipe at former President John Dramani Mahama over the state of the Kumasi Airport during his administration.
In an interview with Serwaa Amihere on GhOne TV, Wontumi criticized Mahama's efforts, describing the airport of that era as substandard and unworthy of its purpose. "When Mahama was in power, he promised to build an airport for the Ashanti Region, but what he left behind was nothing like what we have today.
The airport back then was like a kitchen, a place where we cook," Wontumi remarked in Twi, emphasizing his dissatisfaction with the project under Mahama's leadership.
He lauded the current Akufo-Addo-led NPP government for completing the airport and transforming it into a world-class facility.
