The National Executive of the Nation Builders Corp (NABCo) have expressed doubt about recent attempts by government to pay their arrears.
While they welcomed the reactivation of the NABCo virtual portal after prolonged inactivity among other measures, they want the general public, particularly the media fraternity to know about the latest development regarding the payments of NABCO trainees' arrears. "We will not accept any more broken promises, especially after the unfulfilled commitments made in October 2020 regarding the scheme mechanization (disappointing career pathway transition process)," a press release issued on November 14 stated. "The Leaders of the Trainees' Union has requested that NABCo Management provide a timeline for completing the validation and payment of outstanding arrears.
Regrettably, no progress has been made regarding this request.
It is essential that the public and the media are informed about these developments to hold government accountable and scrutinize their credibility regarding youth job creation promises if the unexpected happens in the next week or two," a portion of the release which was co-signed by Nana Tekyi Eric and David Peterson Kojo Oppong read.
