Public Interest Advocate and a member of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, Rosaline Imoru Ayarna has advised the Electoral Commission(EC) led my Mrs Jean Mensa to maintain the peace in the country by conducting a free and fair elections.
During an panel discussions on TV3's NewDay she stated that Madam Jean Mensa should be told in the face that she holds the key to peace in this country so she must do the right thing. "She should make sure we have a free and fair and transparent election", while slamming the EC for refusing the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) from going to observe the elections.
According to her, the CSOs are like monitoring groups who report issues which needs to be reported hence it is necessary to give them them the accreditation to observe the elections as they have requested.
It would be recalled that the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) involved in election observation, led by the Centre for Conflict Resolution-Ghana (CENCOR) expressed disappointment over the Electoral Commission of Ghana's refusal to grant them accreditation to monitor the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
