The National Labour Commission (NLC) has secured a ten-day interim injunction against the strike action by the Senior Staff Association of the Ghana Highway Authority and the Ghana Highway Workers Union (CBMWU-TUC).
The injunction was granted after the NLC filed the application at the High court on Wednesday, November 13 2024.
The court after hearing the argument by counsel for Executive Secretary of the NLC, Ofosu Amoah directed that the strike which commenced on Tuesday, November 12 should not proceed further. "It is hereby ordered that the Respondents, whether by their executives, officers, members, agents, servants, employees, or other persons, are restrained from further continuation of the industrial strike action commenced on November 12, 2024," the court stated.
The court further ordered that the Association comply with the NLC's directives dated November 6, 2024, and call off the industrial strike action." "The application is granted for 10 days and upon its expiration the Applicant will have to come back to court on notice," the court added.
