The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) has congratulated Ghana's Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, who was recently elected as the next Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

The Conference recounted how it offered an unflinching support for Ghana's Foreign Minister ahead of the elections.

It, therefore, said the victory at the elections was unsurprising to them. "We reiterated our unflinching support in rallying member states in a bid to help your pursuit," a statement issued on Wednesday, November 13 said. "In our small ways, we did just that. "We at The GITFiC weren't surprised you won the admiration and votes of member states with His Excellency the president as your Chief campaigner. "We remain committed and hope to present our next GITFiC birthday cake to you in your capacity as the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations in good health and shared prosperity." Madam Ayorkor Botchwey was on Saturday, October 26 declared the next Secretary General for the Commonwealth and is expected to replace Dominican Patricia Scotland as soon as possible.
