Former President John Mahama has announced that the next (NDC) government will divide the Aowin Constituency into two if he is elected president in the upcoming December 7 elections.
This follows a request from the Aowin Traditional Council to decentralise local government and enhance local development.
Responding to the request during a recent community engagement at Enchi as part of his campaign tour of the Western North Region, the NDC flagbearer acknowledged that the district, with 181 polling stations, is large and a split is necessary. "The Aowin Constituency is too large.
