The Deputy Spokesperson, John Mahama Campaign Team, Lawyer Beatrice Annan has disclosed that under the National Democratic Congress (NDC), no family member of politicians or political appointees will benefit from government educational scholarships.
During an interview on Onua FM, Beatrice Annan lamented how the Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay who is financially stable has benefited from scholarships meant for the poor and needy. "Freddie Blay who is the Board Chairman for the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) takes allowances every month, but his family members and children are the ones benefiting from governmental scholarships.
The poor, needy, children of cocoa farmers will apply for scholarships and will not get" Beatrice Annan complained.
She also made references to a scholarship given to a family member of the president, Nana Addo, identified as Celestina Amoako-Atta while the scholarship secretariat have denied the needy the scholarships for their education.
