Madam Patricia Appiagyei, the Member of Parliament(MP) for Asokwa Constituency, has sharply criticized John Dramani Mahama's campaign proposal for a 24-hour economy, calling it impractical and out of touch with the realities of Ghana's job market.

Appearing on Angel FM in Kumasi, Appiagyei ridiculed the former president's ambitious plan, which aims to create round-the-clock operations in businesses by implementing a three-shift system.

Mahama had touted this as a means to increase employment opportunities and boost economic growth. "Not every business needs to operate 24 hours," Appiagyei asserted. "There are certain jobs and services that simply don't require around-the-clock availability.

The reality is that the job market in Ghana operates on basic economic principles of demand and supply." Appiagyei's comments came in response to Mahama's earlier explanation of his plan, where he suggested that introducing a 24-hour economy could provide incentives for businesses to stay operational all day, every day.
