Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Dr Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings, has cautioned leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to do things the usual way if the party stages a comeback to power after the December 7 elections.Addressing a solemn ceremony to mark four years of the demise of her father, the late President Jerry John Rawlings, who happens to be the founder of the country's largest opposition party, Dr Zanetor expressed the view that times are hard, so supporters are urging NDC leadership not to come to power and behave like everything is normal. The two term Korle Klottey MP said "as we go about campaigning and convincing people to vote for us, others are telling us not to come and do business as usual because it is not usual anymore.""The late President will not be happy if he happens to be alive today to see how our water bodies and forest reserves have been destroyed," Dr Rawlings noted, adding that her late father will be displeased at the happenings in the country."We should be celebrating today, but how can we do that when the very things he stood for are being destroyed in our face?" She queried. The wreath laying ceremony was held at the NDC headquarters at Adabraka and was attended by party bigwigs, supporters and some family members. His demise occurred at Korlebu Teaching hospital after a short undisclosed illness.JJ, as he was affectionately called, had supervised the burial of her biological mother, Victoria Agbotui less than a month when he also died.Three wreaths were laid on behalf of the family, the party and the NDC cadres corps who supported the formation of the NDC party.Meanwhile, the party is considering honouring his memory.

As a result, the Special Assistant to the Speaker of Parliament and a member of the NDC cadres corps, Kofi Attoh says moves have been initiated to make the birthday of Jerry John Railings a holiday at the party level. He said, "we need to do more to recognize him.

We need to have a day, preferably his birthday, as a holiday for the party to celebrate him adding that a proposal has been made to the National Executive Committee of the party for consideration.Mr Attoh further stated that NEC will consider the proposal in January as the first item when the NDC comes to power.Read also:NDC to consider making Rawlings' birthday a holiday at the party level
