At a recent durbar honouring Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia's visit, Nana Adomako Boampong, the Dompoasehene of Asokwa, expressed his appreciation for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), recognizing the progress and social initiatives that have uplifted his community and benefited Ghanaians nationwide.
The event saw community members gathering to welcome Dr Bawumia while Nana Boampong spoke candidly about the transformation that the NPP's policies have brought to Asokwa.
Nana Boampong recalled how Asokwa's elevation to district status by the NPP marked a turning point for the community. "This decision has been instrumental," he said, emphasizing how the separation from the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has spurred development. "We have seen changes in infrastructure and essential services that were nearly impossible when we were part of the larger metropolitan area.
It has allowed Asokwa to grow and address its unique needs," he added, highlighting how these developments have helped foster a sense of independence and identity for the area.
