The Attorney General, Godfred Dame, has called on the Speaker of Parliament, , to comply with and respect the Supreme Court's decision regarding the declaration of four seats in Parliament vacant.
Addressing the media after the Supreme Court's verdict overruling Bagbin's decision, Dame stated that Bagbin had no option but to obey, stressing that the ruling was emphatic and left no room for argument or review, as it came from the highest court in the country. "I expect the Speaker of Parliament to comply with the decision of the Supreme Court.
I know him to be law-abiding," he said.
Dame further explained that court rulings are orders that must be respected and observed, regardless of whether the decision was made by a narrow majority. "The court has spoken in very clear and emphatic terms, and the only thing anybody has to do is to respect the court's decision.
