Former President of Ghana, John Agyekum Kufour, is of the view that the decision of the four Parliamentary candidates to contest in the 2024 election cannot amount to cross-carpeting.
He is of the view that their decision does not affect the current Parliament and so should not have caused the current standoff that Ghana's Parliament is experiencing. "For me, the four people who have decided to go independent do not amount to cross-carpeting.
Their decision does not affect the current Parliament but rather the next parliament after this one," he said.
He continued, "So I don't understand how this led to the issues ending up in the Supreme Court.
