The National Labour Commission (NLC) has obtained an injunction against the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), effectively halting their planned strike action.
This decision was made during a session of the High Court of Justice Industrial/Labour in Accra on November 7, 2024.
The court order, issued by Justice Frank Aboadwe Rockson, came after the NLC filed a motion for an interlocutory injunction, supported by an affidavit from Ofosu Asamoah, the Executive Secretary of the NLC.
The court ruled that CLOGSAG, along with its executives, members, and agents, must cease all strike activities immediately and comply with the directives issued by the NLC on November 6, 2024. "IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Respondent, their Executive Officers, Members, Agents, Servants, Employees and other Persons are restrained from a further continuation of their strike action from 7th November 2024." "IT IS HEREBY FURTHER ORDERED that the Respondent by itself, its Executives, Officers, Members, Agents, Servants, Employees and other Persons are to comply with the directives of the National Labour Commission dated 6th November 2024 and call off the industrial action," the court order stated. #GhanaPolls2024 #ElectionBureau #CitiVerify
