Bawku Central MP Mahama Ayariga has criticized Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, accusing him of prioritizing his title over advancing government business in Parliament.
Ayariga's comments came after the majority caucus failed to attend a session they had initially requested, prompting Speaker Alban Bagbin to adjourn the sitting in frustration.
After the adjournment, Afenyo-Markin criticized Speaker Bagbin, accusing him of "supervising chaos" by calling the session without proper planning.
In an interview on Eyewitness News with Serlorm Adonoo, Ayariga countered Afenyo-Markin's statements, arguing that the Majority Leader's preoccupation with seating arrangements and procedural disputes was misplaced and detracted from addressing substantive issues facing Parliament.
