Six persons are currently receiving treatment at the hospital following a clash between residents of Kwahu Abetifi and a group of armed men who stormed the Abetifi Palace to destool Kwahu Adontenhene Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III who is now acting as the President of the Kwahu Traditional Area.
According to Citi News sources, tensions flared when Obaapanyin Yaa Asantewaa posturing as the Abrewatia of the Kwahu area, arrived in Abetifi in the company of a group of armed men.
The men, initially believed to be National Security operatives, reportedly escorted Yaa Asantewaa to the Abetifi Palace, where they detained Kwahu Adontenhene Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III, the acting President of the Kwawu Traditional Area.
Yaa Asantewaa and the armed men then forcefully ushered Akyemfour Agyemang III to an older palace nearby, where she allegedly performed some traditional rites aimed at destooling him with the slaughtering of a sheep in the ritual.
