Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has once again adjourned Parliament's sitting, marking the second indefinite suspension since the October 22 adjournment.

This latest decision, made on November 7, 2024, follows the absence of Members of Parliament from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the chamber, which left the House without the required quorum to conduct business.

Addressing the MPs, Speaker Bagbin noted the lack of a business agenda, a result of the Business Committee's failure to present an order for the session.

He explained that the committee was unable to meet due to the NPP MPs' continued absence, leaving no agenda to deliberate upon. "We have no business before us to transact," Bagbin stated, adding, "In view of the failure of the business committee to sit…we are once again adjourning the House…I proceed once more to adjourn the meeting indefinitely." This latest adjournment comes after the NPP caucus had initially requested an emergency recall of Parliament following the October 22 adjournment, which was triggered by the same lack of quorum due to their absence.
