The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has unveiled a statue of himself at the entrance of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi as part of his one-day "thank you" tour of the Western Region.

In explaining the rationale behind the statue, Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah claimed that the statue was erected in honour of the President for the various initiatives he has embarked on.

The Minister stated that some of these initiatives include the rehabilitation of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the construction of a 3-tier Sinohydro interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.

Despite the unveiling of the statue, a number of these projects were yet to be completed.
