President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has officially unveiled a statue of himself at the entrance of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, as part of his one-day "thank you" tour of the Western Region on November 6, 2024.
In his address to the residents, the president proudly claimed that he has fulfilled 80% of his promises to Ghanaians, with the statue being his latest "gift" to the nation.
According to the Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, the statue is a tribute to Akufo-Addo's "amazing" contributions to the region.
These "amazing" contributions apparently include the rehabilitation of Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital (which, unfortunately, isn't fully completed), the construction of a three-tier Sinohydro interchange (still under construction), and the redevelopment of Takoradi Market Circle (which, let's be honest, could use a little more attention).
