The #FixingTheCountry Movement has criticised the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over its handling of the Airbus 'scandal' involving former President John Dramani Mahama. In a fiery press conference, the group labeled the OSP's recent verdict on Mahama as a "whitewashed" decision, calling it a deliberate attempt to shield the former president from accountability. The Movement is now demanding an independent inquiry into the matter, asserting that President Mahama must be given the opportunity to defend himself publicly. Their call for transparency comes with a warning to the current administration: meet their demands within 14 days or face mass protests.
"If our demands are not met, we will mobilize Ghanaians across the country to protest for the immediate removal of the Special Prosecutor," a spokesperson for the movement stated. The Airbus 'scandal', which has been a topic of heated debate, revolves around allegations of bribery involving high-ranking officials during Mahama's tenure as Vice President of Ghana.
