Nollywood actress Ufoma McDermott has shared her experience with kidney disease, a condition she says developed after years of relying on strong painkillers.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, McDermott opened up about her 12-year journey with the illness, urging others to prioritize their health and be cautious with medication.
Reflecting on her diagnosis, McDermott explained, "I really wish everyone would understand the importance of health.
My brother was diagnosed late on stage 4 of kidney disease and he goes straight into dialysis and has complications." She recounted how her brother's diagnosis led her to consult her cardiologist, as her family feared the illness might be genetic.
