Nsawam-Adoagyiri parliamentary candidate Patrick Tetteh of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) has debunked claims that the party is withdrawing from the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. His comments come on the back of two separate press releases from the party, endorsed by the Electoral Commission but signed separately by the General Secretary and the National organizer respectively. The communique from the party's General Secretary confirmed the nomination of Philip Appiah Kubi (Alias Roman Fada) as the new presidential candidate. On the other hand, the National Organizer served notice of the withdrawal of the party from the 2024 December 7, elections.
This left many confused as to what to believe.Speaking exclusively with 3FM Sunrise, Patrick Tetteh urged Ghanaians to disregard any claims of the party's withdrawal from the upcoming December polls."Ghana Freedom Party is still in the race for the presidency, I want to tell Ghanaians that GFP has come to stay.
For myself and the leadership, the best way to mourn her is to give her that honour by continuing to run GFP and take power in Ghana to do the will of the people." Patrick stated. He stated that the party has successfully filed and submitted their nominations to contest the presidential seat."Yesterday, November 6, 2024, our new Presidential Candidate, running mate, and the leadership of the party went to the Electoral Commission to file and submit our nominations for the presidential elections, and Samuel Tettey, Director of Operations, received it."
