Parents and guardians of learners at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) Basic School in Ho were filled with tears of joy, looking at their children receiving awards for excellent academic performance at the school's 4th graduation and awards day event. The children were awarded in the areas of overall best student (female and male categories) and best learner in various subjects, including mathematics, science, social studies, career technology, and English language. Other awards were the best learner in the indigenous language (Ewe), the most disciplined learner, and the most academically progressed learner. Both teaching and non-teaching staff were also awarded by the school for their roles in the school's growth. At the ceremony held on Friday, August 9, 2024, the children also performed debates on drug abuse, campaigned for peaceful elections, and performed choreography and beauty pageants.
