The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared a nationwide strike action due salary and conditions of service concerns.

This was contained in a statement dated Monday, November 4, 2024, signed by CLOGSAG's Executive Secretary, Isaac Bampoe Addo. "We refer to our letter number BA/15/VOL.2 dated 22nd October 2024, on our intention to proceed on strike," the letter opened.

It pointed to the premise for the strike, noting: "To date the understanding that by October 31st October 2024, both parties would finalize a New Salary Structure for the Staff of the Civil Service and the Local Government Service to be implemented from 1st January 2025, continued to be a mirage. "Henceforth, CLOGSAG has decided to have nothing to do with the Chief Executive'of Fair Wages and Salary Commission (FWSC), Mr Benjamin Authur, since he has acted in bad faith all this while." "As a result of the long delay in the completion of a Salary Structure and other Conditions of Service for the Staff of Civil Service and Local Government Service, the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has no other option than to ask our members to stay at home from Thursday, 7th November 2024," CLOGSAG doubled down.
