The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, has stated that the government is committed to restoring peace in Bawku, a region currently grappling with violent clashes.

Speaking at the "Agent of Peace" Campaign organised by the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) on Sunday, November 3, Asamoah Boateng expressed his deep concern over the ongoing conflict and pledged that the government would take all necessary measures to ensure stability returns to the area. "To the citizenry, you are to reach out to your neighbour, bridge the divide that separates you and build a future where peace reigns supreme. "It is a very sad situation in Bawku and if you've never set foot there, you probably would not understand what is going on.

I have been there several times and we want peace to reign.

Whatever the government has to do, we will do it to make peace possible in Bawku," he stated.
