Apostle Eric Nyamekye, President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), has urged all stakeholders and politicians to prioritise the well-being and peace of Ghanaians as we gear up for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Apostle Eric Nyamekye made this timely appeal at the launch of the National Peace Campaign, themed "Let Peace Prevail," held at the State House forecourt on November 3, 2024.
In his address, Apostle Nyamekye urged politicians and stakeholders to shun violence, highlighting the importance of finding common ground through compromise, making sacrifice, and taking intentional actions that would foster tranquility and stability for Ghanaians throughout the period of election. "I must acknowledge that while the overall atmosphere during these elections has been peaceful, they have occasionally seen instances of violence which sometimes led to the loss of lives. "The call for peace to prevail on our land before, during and after the general election should be of general concern for every Ghanaian, particularly those who seek to rule the land, as well as the institutions which seek to steer the nation's affairs," Apostle Nyamekye advised.
He continued, "I'm pleased to see key representatives from the Electoral Commission (EC), political parties and security agencies who are here, I'm confident that they are all dedicated to safeguarding the peace we cherish as a country.
