Dr.
Victor Doke, a lecturer at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), has advised that Alhaji Seidu Abagre should be taken out of Bawku in order to restore calm.
According to Dr Doke, the current clash in Bawku was an incident which was bound to happen due to the presence of the rival chief, Alhaji Seidu Abagre. "If you have a Chief in the area already and a rival chief shows up, there will be a confrontation.
So, it's either we saw the signs on the wall and didn't act, or there are some shadow stakeholders who were complacent" Dr Doke stated during an interview on Newsfile monitored by MyNewsGh.com He emphasized that the government should have issued a proper arrest warrant but play it safe in order not to get affected during the upcoming elections. "For the right thing to be done, get Alhaji Seidu Abagre out of Bawku for the meantime to restore calm and then take the next step to prevent the deaths from increasing" he advised.
