Businessman Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the famous ambulance trial of Dr. , has been appointed the NDC's 'agent supervisor' for the 2024 election ballot printing.

Richard Jakpa, a former military officer, will be responsible for supervising the party's agents who will be posted to the printing houses contracted by the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) to print the ballot papers for the upcoming 2024 general election.

Speaking on his new role in an interview on JoyNews on Friday, November 1, 2024, Jakpa said that his job is to ensure that the agents are well prepared for their task, which is to prevent any shady happenings at the printing centres. "Well, it's a very daunting task.

It's supervising our various agents that are placed in the various printing houses and then to make sure that they do what is expected of them. "And then also identifying loopholes in the printing processes, the printing houses and making sure that they don't print more than what is required for the election and that nothing untoward happens on the blind side of our agents and also NDC thereby compromising the election and the results," he said.
