The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has filed a new writ at the Sekondi High Court to overturn a ruling on its injunction application.
The High Court [General Jurisdiction 6] in Accra on Thursday, 31st October, 2024 dismissed the application for injunction filed on October 17, 2024 by the NDC seeking to restrain the Electoral Commission (EC) from printing the ballot papers and notice of poll for the Amenfi Central Constituency.
The NDC filed the suit in reaction to the refusal of the EC to recognise Joana Gyan Cudjoe as the duly elected NDC parliamentary candidate for the Amenfi Central Constituency as ordered by the High Court, Sekondi, earlier on May 13, 2024.
The court ruled that the EC's stance complied with pending orders, but the NDC claims the ruling was flawed, leading to this latest challenge.
