Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr.

Mahamudu Bawumia, has told the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, that "insults do not win votes." This comment comes as Bawumia responded to what he described as Mahama's reliance on insults in his politicking.

Former President Mahama has faced criticism from some members of the public, who argue that his language has been overly insulting in recent political exchanges.

This backlash arose after Mahama recently responded to Vice President Bawumia by accusing him of "running away from the economy." Citing a famous line from Bill Clinton's campaign, Mahama remarked, "It's about the economy, stupid!" Mahama's retort followed Bawumia's list of 50 questions aimed at him, in response to Mahama's initial five questions on the economy.
