John Dramani Mahama, the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has strongly criticised the Akufo-Addo government for stifling press freedom since taking office.

He claims that press freedom has taken a severe hit under Akufo-Addo's nearly eight-year administration, with journalists being intimidated into silence.

Mahama also condemned the government's deliberate attempts to undermine the independence of vital institutions, including the Judiciary, Electoral Commission, and Audit Service.

Mahama assured Ghanaians he would work with them and key stakeholders to restore good governance, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and accountability.
