The fact that no evidence of bribery was found against former President John Dramani Mahama in the Airbus scandal does not mean that nothing untoward happened, private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, has said. Kpebu said that the OSP report that says no evidence of bribery was found does not bring finality to this matter. In the future, if they find incriminating evidence the investigators can return to the issue, he added.
"John Mahama is lucky because of Akufo-Addo and Bawumia corruption, he is coming but I don't want to be lending support to the report that nothing happened in the Airbus issue]," he said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, August 10.
"It doesn't bring finality, it is just it is a truce, matters like this because it is criminal in nature, if tomorrow they find any evidence that is incriminating they will go back to it. In the future if they find evidence, it appears they will not be able to prosecute, they can go back to it. He stressed, "Once money has gone into the president's brother's pocket we will never be happy about it, because there is suspicion."
The OSP after its investigations in the Airbus 'scandal' case disclosed that John Mahama was 'Government Official One' in the Airbus SE case.
