Ghanaian socialite and singer, Sister Derby, has opened up on the employment challenges she encountered after earning her master's degree in the United Kingdom.In an interview on 3 Music TV, the "Kakalila Love" hitmaker revealed that after losing her £700 internship, getting a job was difficult.She revealed that although she submitted several applications, she could not secure a job."I applied for so many jobs, but I couldn't get one.

So, I spoke to one of my professors and she told me that due to the recession in the UK, they are employing citizens before other nationalities."I went to so many job interviews in big publishing companies but I wasn't called… I registered with a lot of different agencies for jobs but I wasn't called too, so I decided to come back to Ghana," she said.Sister Derby noted that she was finally helped by a fellow Nigerian to get a job as a salesperson at one of the biggest pharmacies in the UK, however she considered below her level as a Master's graduate and eventually quit.At this point, she took a final decision to return to Ghana."When I decided to return to Ghana and look for a job here, I happened to be on the last Ghana Airwaves flight I think somewhere in January 2010," she disclosed.Here's why @deborahvanessa7 relocated to Ghana!😁Check out this video!#BigConversation pic.twitter.com/Vdy8gKOwKG- 3Music TV (@3musicnetworks) October 30, 2024
