Ghanaians woke up to the sad news of Akua Donkor's death.

According to her children and running mate, the Flagbearer for Ghana Freedom Party passed away at the Ridge Hospital, Accra, after a short illness.

She led the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and was its presidential candidate until her death in the upcoming general election of 2024.

Despite obstacles as an illiterate, Madam Donkor, a cocoa farmer by trade, was unfazed by her limits and persistently fought for women's rights and progress.
