The Chief Fisherman at Tema Manhean,  Nii Odamettey has expressed worry over the effects  galamsey activities is having on fishing communities.

While speaking to Accra-based Citi Fm during a Community Forum segment, the fisherman stated that the galamsey activities have crippled the State.

While lamenting about the effects of galamsey, he stated that the it has affected the fishing community as many fishermen find it difficult getting a bounty catch as compared to previous years. "The galamsey activities are affecting the fishing communities.

Because all rivers and lagoons have their flows into the sea.
