The Vice Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission, Mr David Quaye Annan, has urged persons chosen to serve their country as volunteers to prioritise community-driven projects in order to enhance livelihoods and strengthen local capacities.
This, he explained, was the only way volunteers could contribute to the development individuals and the country as a whole.
Mr Annan made the call during the swearing-in ceremony for CorpsAfrica, Ghana's third cohort of volunteers in Accra yesterday.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a year-long commitment for 44 young African graduates, consisting of 26 women and 18 men, including six Exchange Volunteers from various African nations.
