The chiefs and queen mothers in the Builsa South district have appealed to former President to consider extending rural electrification to communities that are yet to benefit from it if elected as President. Addressing the flagbearer of the (NDC) and his team in Fumbisi, the Doninga chief, Nab Atabnueong Adiila Akanbeanab Akanbong, highlighted the need for a new NDC government to consider this appeal. Speaking on behalf of all the chiefs and queen mothers, he acknowledged that the NDC has a solid track record of extending electricity to various communities across the country, particularly rural areas. He believes that energy is an important catalyst for job creation, improvement of livelihoods, and a prerequisite for national development.
"However, many of our communities do not have access to electricity. In view of your achievements in extending rural electrification to most parts of our communities, we have no doubt at all that your second term will witness an aggressive program of rural electrification that will cover the remaining unserved communities in our districts."
He further commended the former president for his track record in the health sector and requested more initiatives should the NDC win the elections.
