The chiefs and queen mothers in the Eastern Region have called on the (EC) to ensure the organization of free, fair, transparent, and credible elections. Speaking on behalf of the chiefs and queen mothers in Fumbisi, the Doninga chief, Nab Atabnueong Adiila Akanbeanab Akanbong, emphasized the importance of the EC conducting the electoral processes in a credible manner to avoid disputes. He stated that the EC must perform its duties in a way that fosters trust. The traditional leader also advised political parties and their leaders to conduct their campaigns with civility and avoid violence.
"We take this opportunity to advise all politicians seeking the mandate of the good people of Ghana to campaign with civility and decorum. They must always safeguard the security and sanctity of our country by avoiding actions that could threaten the peace and tranquility we currently enjoy.
"Likewise, we urge the EC to perform its functions in ways that build trust and broad acceptance by committing to be an honest arbiter," he said in a media statement.
