A communications team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Sosu, has taken a swipe at President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over the Airbus scandal. He averred that the original plan by this government was to use the scandal to smear former President and tag him as corrupt. However, their "evil plot" could not stand following the clearing of Mahama's name by the Office of the Special Prosecutor. Sosu indicated that the probe by the OSP was orchestrated from the corridors of power with the expectation that it would have nailed Mahama as a corrupt individual. He said that the former President has been exonerated and cleared, affirming the long-held view that Mahama is incorruptible.
